Viridian 100% Organic Chlorella 90 Capsules
What is Chlorella?
Chlorella is a unicellular green algae that grows in fresh water. The principle components of Chlorella that have been shown to have certain health benefits are chlorophyll, the organism’s cell walls, beta carotene, amino acid profile and trace minerals. The synergistic effects of these components appear to exert positive effects on reducing inflammation, improving acid/alkaline balance, supporting detoxification and helping optimise nutritional status.
Viridian uses broken cell wall chlorella to help maximise uptake and absorption of the diverse array of nutrients found within.
What can Chlorella be used for?
Chlorella and IMMUNE SUPPORT
A number of researchers have revealed that chlorella exerts immune-stimulatory effects due to polysaccharide/protein complexes primarily composed of galactose, rhamnose and arabinose. Alongside its amino acid profile and trace mineral content it has been found to be anti-inflammatory and anti- oxidative.
Chlorella for DETOXIFICATION
Chlorella has beneficial effects on detoxification through its abilities to bind with heavy metals, pesticides and carcinogens such as PCBs and carries these toxins safely out of the body. Due to the high levels of chlorophyll (one of the highest of any food) it has potent purifying properties exerting anti- inflammatory and anti-viral effects. Chlorella reveals positive effects in conditions such as candidiasis, Epstein- Barr virus, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.
Research from 2000 demonstrated that chlorella supplementation produced a significant reduction in pain experienced by fibromyalgia patients, after only 2 months of use.
Chlorella,s NUTRITIVE properties.
Chlorella has the highest content of chlorophyll of any known plant and also contains high concentrations of many vitamins and minerals, protein (47%), essential fatty acids, as well as fibre, nucleic acids, all eight essential amino acids, along with a wide spectrum of non-essential amino acids, enzymes and other phytonutrients including chlorella growth factor (CGF). The amino acid composition of chlorella can help stabilise mood and assist glycaemic control. Results from a 2010 research trial suggests that Chlorella supplementation significantly reduces the risk of pregnancy associated anaemia, proteinuria and oedema. Chlorella supplement may be useful as a resource of natural folate, vitamin B-12 and iron for pregnant women.
Chlorella a potent ANTIOXIDANT
Chlorella contains an abundance of antioxidant vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients. It is thought to exert antioxidative functions by scavenging free radicals created by various environmental factors such as smoking. Research reveals that Chlorella supplementation results in the conservation of plasma antioxidant nutrient status and improvement in erythrocyte antioxidant enzyme activities in subjects who smoke cigarettes.
The phenolic compounds salicylic, trans cinnamic, chlorogenic, chimic and caffeic acids found in chlorella may be responsible for its higher antioxidant activity.
One to three capsules daily or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner. Doses of 2-3g daily are often suggested for detoxification programmes.
