What does Damiana do?

Whilst some of the claims around this maybe somewhat overplayed, there is certainly evidence to suggest its effectiveness in those who have low libido due to exhaustion and prolonged stress, as it is a relatively strong adaptogen. One of the key constituents in damiana is a compound called damianin, which trials show has a relaxing effect upon the central nervous system. It is also believed by many, that some compounds in damiana are able to increase tissue oxygen concentration, which may help to explain the energising effects experienced by many users.

What does Tomato extract plus pure lycopene do?

Tomatoes have been widely studied in recent years, following the discovery of lycopene - a powerful carotenoid. Whilst it is a powerful antioxidant for everyone, with a radical absorption capacity 100 times stronger than the likes of vitamin E, it has very specific effects that are of benefit to men and prostrate health.

What does Broccoli extract do?

Broccoli, like most brassicas, is extremely high in a group of phytochemicals called glucosinolates. These substances are secondary metabolites, being formed when plants metabolise glucose. The most powerful of these is sulforaphane, and is specific to broccoli. Sulforaphane has been the focus of several clinical studies, especially in the context of prostatic health. It is believed that sulforaphane can enhance the activity of glutathione s-transferase, which speeds up the biotransformation of toxic materials within cells. Detoxifies the Body.

What does Nettle Root do?

Nettle root as a nutritional supplement, has traditionally been used to support the health of the prostate gland for many years. This is because yet unnamed compounds in nettle root are known to block the action of sex hormone binding globulin within prostatic tissue. One of the main issues in prostate care, is the management of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is created by a conversion of regular testosterone, into the far more aggressive DHT form. DHT can then bind to prostatic tissue and cause a rapid enlargement of the gland - benign prostatic hyperplasia. Sex hormone binding globulin actually facilitates the binding of DHT to specific receptor sites within prostatic tissue. By blocking its activity, DHT is unable to bind and instigate its negative effects.

What does Pumpkin Seed Extract do?

Pumpkin seeds are a rich source of fatty acids. The four dominant fatty acids are Palmitic,Stearic,Oleic, and linoleic acid. HPLC analysis of the powerful pigments found in pumpkin seed oil reveal a number of CAROTENOIDS – the main components being BETA CAROTENE and LUTEIN. In addition other carotenoids present include – violaxanthin, lutein xanthin, auroxanthin, flavoxanthin, chrysanthemum xanthin, alpha-cryptoxanthin, beta-cryptoxanthin and alpha-carotene.

Pumpkin seed oil is also a rich source of the potent antioxidant nutrients - tocopherols and tocotrienols (vitamin E family), particularly gamma tocopherol. Vitamin E acts in synergy with essential fatty acids and plays a protective role in protecting cell membranes.

What does Selenium do?

The trace mineral selenium functions primarily as a component of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase (GSH),whichworkswithvitaminEinpreventingfreeradicaldamagetocellmembranes. Zinc

Zinc is a mineral essential to many body processes including the maintenance of normal cognitive function, vision, fertility and reproduction, hair, skin and nails and the immune system. Zinc also contributes to the normal metabolism of fatty acids and macronutrients. Selenium contributes to normal spermatogenesis (the creation of sperm), to the maintenance of normal hair and nails, the normal function of the immune system and for the protection of cells from oxidative stress. This 'oxidative stress' appears to be a major factor in many human diseases.

Selenium

contributes to normal spermatogenesis (the creation of sperm), to the maintenance of normal hair and nails, the normal function of the immune system, normal thyroid function and for the protection of cells from oxidative stress. This 'oxidative stress' appears to be a major factor in many human diseases.

B6 (pyridoxine)

contributes the regulation of hormonal activity, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, the energy-yielding metabolism, to normal psychological function and the functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin B6 also contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to normal homocysteine metabolism and red blood cell formation.

Copper

contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, the maintenance of normal connective tissues, to the normal pigmentation of hair and skin, the normal function of the nervous and immune systems, and for the protection of cells from oxidative stress. This 'oxidative stress' appears to be a major factor in many human diseases.

Folic acid (folate)

contributes to a reduction in tiredness and fatigue, the normal function of the immune system, normal psychological function, and the processes of normal homocysteine metabolism, amino acid synthesis, cell division and blood formation.

B12

contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism and red blood cell formation, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, the energy-yielding metabolism, to normal psychological function and the functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin B12 also contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
