New Year New You?

The perfect start to 2020 (the dawn of a new decade).

 

So here we go guys 2020 is upon us, how the hell did that happen?

 

For the last 30 years I have been giving people advice on their diets, supplements and exercise regimes. I have worked with some amazing people and made some amazing friends along the way. I am very lucky to do a job that helps people on their road to health and fitness.

 

So I am going to suggest what you can do to start a new journey towards improved health and fitness. Now no matter what condition health wise you may be in, be it preparing for a competition or finally doing something about shifting some weight, this applies to all of you.

 

Step 1 – Detox

 

Definitely my first step in any process to improved health would be a body detox both liver and intestinal.

 

So for the first 4 -6 weeks I would suggest two products to really cleanse the whole body.

 

Liver detox – There is a phenomenal product called Dandelion, cysteine and artichoke complex by an amazing company called Terranova Nutrition. This product works on both phase 1 and phase 2 of the liver, supports kidney function and works as a natural diuretic.

 

Body Detox – My favourite product to use on this is ironically by the same company, Terranova nutrition, however there are similar products on the market. This product is called LIFE and is a powder you mix in water or a juice every morning first thing. This product is rich in super green, super fruits, amino acids, probiotics and digestive enzymes as well as all the other nutrients and chlorophyll’s you would ever need. The LIFE drink is like a supercharged nutritional drink that balances blood acidity, increased energy and nutrient delivery as well as cleansing the body and intestines from toxins.

Step 2 – The Basics

Get the basics right and everything becomes easier. Energy levels go up, Recover is quicker, mood is elevated, general well being is improved, the immune system is boosted and you will start to feel amazing.

To me the basics start in the following ..

Water – Drink at least 3 litres of water every day.

Diet -

Get the diet balanced,

Eat more vegetables and fruit. Buy organic where possible,

Eat more plant-based foods,

Keep away from the takeaways and ready meals and watch yourself blossom.

Supplements

Here are three basic daily supplements I genuinely would recommend to everyone for enhanced health.

Firstly I would start with a very good quality multivitamin, in a presentation that maximizes absorption in the body. My personal recommendation would be either the Viridian High Five multivitamin or one from the Terranova range, both are exceptional.

Secondly and just as important I would opt for a very high quality fish oil I would recommend the Viridian Scandinavian Rainbow Trout or Wileys Wild Alaskan sustainably sourced fish oils. Please don’t compromise on your fish oils, these are essential for great health so worth paying the extra.

Thirdly but just as importantly is our gut health. This is key for our energy, our mood, our brain function, a massive 70% of our immune system is located here, our sleep, our skin and a gazillion other things. There are some fantastic probiotics on the market today and unfortunately there are also some really poor ones, so make sure you know what your taking. These little gimmicky probiotic drinks in little plastic bottles are not for you, trust me. I again would look to the experts like Optibac, Viridian or Terranova Nutrition.

 

Get these basics right and go with the quality, it will be the best investment you could ever make. After all, with over 30 years experience in the health and fitness industry, I believe good health and happiness is priceless.
