World Lethwei Championship signs WBC Champion Toby Bindon
News broke on social media last night of WBC Muay Thai Champion Toby Bindon joining World Lethwei Championship (WLC), with a picture of him with a WLC contract in hand. The rumour was confirmed by World Lethwei Championship, who shared the story on their own Instagram page, leading to chatter from excited fans wondering who he will be fighting first.
Toby Bindon is a WBC Muay Thai Champion and one of the fastest rising stars in the combat sports world. The 26-year-old is considered something of a knockout specialist, with nine of his eleven wins coming via knockout. Bindon has been training for over a decade and has fought the biggest names in the UK and Europe. He is also a British Sanda champion. He won the biggest fight of his career in December last year, knocking out his opponent in the first round to become a WBC Muay Thai Champion, leading to this opportunity to sign with World Lethwei Championship.
“This is a huge test for me and I am very excited. World Lethwei Championship is the biggest platform for bareknuckle combat and I want to prove that I am the best striker there is. I am looking forward to having some fun inside the lethwei ring.”
Bindon will be competing in the Light Middleweight Division where current champion Sasha Moisa reigns supreme. Other viable contenders in the division include Myanmar’s Thway Thit Win Hlaing, who is riding a four-fight win streak in the organisation, and former Light Middleweight World Lethwei Champion Artur Saladiak.
Tony is an absolute gent and complete legend already with us. He is one of the most humble athletes you are ever likely to meet and we look forward to keeping you updated with his progress.
